Eplehuset choose Flow Retail as their future POS platform

A thorough and extensive process

Jørn Are Guttelvik, project lead and digital business developer at Eplehuset, led a comprehensive and well-structured process to select a new in-store platform for their retail operations.

In the early summer of 2022, Eplehuset made the decision to choose Flow Retail as the new POS solution for all their stores, with rollout starting immediately after the summer and completion scheduled for Q1 2023.

A major vote of confidence

It was a significant vote of confidence when Eplehuset chose Flow Retail — especially considering the platform was not yet finalized and had no active customers at the time.

Integrated with SAP

Eplehuset uses SAP as their ERP system, and their internal IT team has integrated SAP directly with the Flow Retail API.

Flow Retail’s fully open and well-documented API — capable of sending and receiving all types of data — was a key reason for choosing the platform.

Modern in-store devices

Previously, Eplehuset had to rely on Windows-based hardware or run Windows emulators on Macs — not ideal for a retail chain that promotes Apple products.

With Flow Retail, there are no device limitations. Eplehuset has chosen Flow Retail Checkout for iPad as their primary in-store POS, and Flow Retail Assistant for iPhone for mobile use by staff.

Flow Retail Backoffice runs directly in the browser, working just as well on Mac as on Windows PCs.

Very positive early feedback

After the pilot rollout in the first stores during summer 2022, feedback from the staff has been overwhelmingly positive.

CTO Magnus Buseth reports a strong start, with excitement from day one — thanks in large part to the skilled and dedicated team behind the platform. The delivery so far has truly confirmed they made the right decision.
